It is on Friday, September 17 that twenty photographs of Dance in Lyon will take place on the walls of Cour des Loges *****. This jewel of the Italian Renaissance, located in Old Lyon, will be adorned with aerial and aesthetic photographs featuring star-studded dancers who evolve in the city of Lyon. An exhibition open to all to discover in this historic and exceptional place.
Yanis Ourabah was initially an extreme sports photographer. Fascinated by mountain enthusiasts, it is during the winter season and armed with his camera, that he enjoys capturing them in extraordinary performances to immortalize their technical prowess.
But, putting his goal in the closet during the summer season costs him. After a short period of reflection, he becomes aware of the many similarities between these mountain artists and these dance artists: the movements are clear, the gestures precise, and the airy pace. The dancers come to life in unexpected places in the city, the balancés, the grand throws or the whipped pirouettes emerge from the walls of the performance halls: Dance in Lyon was born, we are in 2012.
The artistic concept is sublime: freezing in time the starry dancers coming to magnify iconic places of the City of Lights. Through this work, Yanis combines art and grace for a rendering of stunning beauty.
Today, for his first exhibition in a hotel, Yanis Ourabah offers us two distinct opuses: the first consists of a selection of photographs in which Lyon takes the stage while the second presents the talented and magnificent Kristina Bentz evolving in the charming spaces of Cour des Loges *****.
This exhibition will be open from Friday, September 17 to Sunday, October 31, the opportunity to discover or rediscover Cour des Loges during a stroll between the Grand Cour, the Café-Epicerie, and the Bar-Fumoir.
Monday, September 20th will be the highlight of the exhibition. From 6.30 p.m. the opening will take place in the Grande Cour, in the presence of photographer Yanis Ourabah.
